Watson Welcomes 3 New Companies To Its Community Of Customers
Watson Land Company is thrilled to extend a warm welcome to three new customers in our community: Floor & Décor, Logistics Plus, and CTSI Logistics, Inc. These companies join the growing WLC network and will strengthen Watson Land Company as well as continue to build and support the communities in the areas where we live and work.
Founded in 2000, Floor & Décor is an American company and specialty retailer of hard surface flooring, including tile, wood, laminate, and natural stone flooring products, as well as decorative and installation accessories. They operate more than one hundred warehouses and over twenty-five design centers throughout the United States. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Floor & Décor just moved a distribution center into Building 139 at Watson Industrial Center in Carson, California.
Over the years, Floor & Décor has demonstrated their commitment to the people in their communities by giving back in multiple ways. The company’s social responsibility focus concentrates on organizations that help United States’ current military service members, veterans, and their spouses and families. This support has manifested in many ways, including active volunteer participation and monetary donations.
For example, store teams in Arizona, Nevada, and Texas have collaborated on projects associated with Building Homes for Heroes, Inc. An organization that provides mortgage-free homes to disabled veterans, Floor & Decor provided flooring and countertops to these service members, and store employees contributed time to the building efforts.
Similar projects include volunteering to renovate facilities that benefit wounded and disabled veterans through ServiceSource’s Warrior Bridge, helping to remodel the Oscar Mike Foundation’s adaptive sports compound that assists injured veterans, and sponsoring events like the Freedom 4-Miler, a project that raises awareness and funds for local veterans and veteran organizations in the local area.
Floor & Décor also maintains an internal community service called the West Fund. Named after the founder of the company, George West, the fund was established to provide financial relief to help employees when they faced an unexpected and unavoidable emergency.
Logistics Plus Inc. also expanded into a WLC property at Building 848 at Watson Industrial Park in Chino, California. A global giant, the company provides transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, worldwide logistics, supply chain solutions, technology, and business intelligence to the industry. Headquartered in Erie, Pennsylvania by a local entrepreneur, Jim Berlin, the company employs team members in 28 countries around the world.
Corporate giving is also a major part of the company’s values. Most currently, Logistics Plus helped transport 50,000 surgical masks that were donated to frontline government workers to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Employees from the new Logistics Plus COVID-19 Response Team delivered the masks personally, and additional masks were warehoused by the company and delivered to other locations as needed.
Logistics Plus has furthermore given back to communities with the focus on improving local neighborhoods and the lives of our fellow citizens. This includes investing in the revitalization and economic development of downtown Erie, creating an internship program to give career opportunities to local college students, and support and funding for a variety of renowned organizations such as the United Way, March of Dimes, American Heart Association, and Make a Wish Foundation.
In 1991, CTSI Logistics Inc. was founded in Los Angeles, California. Since then, it has become an international freight forwarding company between the Americas, the Pacific, and Asia. The company’s services also include warehousing, distribution, cargo consolidation, and household goods transport. CTSI Logistics just increased their capacity at Watson’s Dominguez Technology Center in Building 642, located in Carson, California.
They also take social responsibility seriously. CTSI Logistics is active in the local community and around the world, supporting several charities, sponsorship opportunities, and donating to many organizations.
Their focus is their corporate responsibility to the environment, which the company believes goes beyond legal and regulatory requirements. Consequently, CTSI Logistics is committed to improving their environmental performance as it is an integral part of their business strategy and operating methods.
Illustrations of the company’s commitment to sustainability are their tree-planting activities and beach cleanups, which they conduct in various locations. This serves to offset the company’s consumption of valuable and limited resources, recognizing energy and water conservation, and limiting carbon emissions as much as possible. It also emphasizes CTSI Logistics’ concentration on keeping coastal areas and the ocean clean for future generations.
We welcome these three customers into the Watson family. We’re proud of the work they do and the dedication they have to corporate citizenship locally and beyond. At Watson Land Company, we are committed to building community, generous planned giving, and volunteerism, as it is sewn into the seams of all we do, and we are honored to have Floor & Décor, Logistics Plus, and CTSI Logistics, Inc. join us in these endeavors.
